I can sign in on my desktop and iPhone, just not on ipad. It's AOL. I've googled this multiple times for fixes, and nothing works. I just keep getting the message that username or password are incorrect.

If you haven't, I would restart the iPad. If the app launches and you can't authenticate, it's an AOL issue to resolve. The app is talking to the server, which is the end of Apple's involvement.

What email provider? Go to their web page and try to sign in.
Seems to me an iPad problem, Apple’s problem, since aol works on other devices, but oh well, guess I give up. Totally frustrating.
