Apple Card - To use Apple Pay for recurring payments to receive 2% cash back on purchases

I have signed up and received my Apple Card 1.5 weeks ago.

It seems like all online shopping including recurring payments you only receive 1% cash back for purchases. I would like to receive the 2% instead.

As of now, is there a way to use Apple Pay - with Apple Card for recurring payments?

My whole thought process behind this is "IF" I could tie everything to "Apple Pay" then I wouldn't have to worry about changing my payment method for that bill every time my CC expires or I receive a new CC number. I could just tie "Apple Pay" to the account as the payment method. Then whichever credit card I have on my phone as "my default" will simply pay the bill that month.

I could totally be wishful thinking, but it seems to me this might be possible.

Thanks ahead of time to anyone offering insight on this.

I have. This was the 3rd question that I've asked in iMessage within 1.5 weeks. They have not been able to answer any of them yet. They just beat around the bush when replying and never answer my questions.

So far the iMessaging to ask Goldman Sachs for help, while convenient, it has proved worthless.

I'm hoping this changes in the future.
