Pages documents

I created a password to lock a Pages document on my MacBook - now it won't open. I KNOW it's the right password, and the prompt also indicates it's correct, but it keeps saying it's not the right password. Has anyone else had this problem? I had it with a previous password too so it's not a new problem.
