what happens to data on a old iphone?

I'm going to transfer data from my old iPhone (SE) to my new iPhone (8) via iCloud backup.

What happens with the iCloud on my old iPhone SE? Does it still stay on the phone even if I use that backup on the iPhone 8?

Until you erase the SE, yes.

The backup is not stored on the SE, only in iCloud.
