FaceTime and iMessage not working

I have tried to activate iMessage and FaceTime on my new phone but it won't work my cell service has charged me thrice and I've waited more that 2 days but it hasn't been activated. I have tried everything I could but nothing worked please help.

iMessage and FaceTime can be use without Phone Number too.


But if you want to use Phone number also for iMessage & FaceTime then


  • Have you taken Data / SMS plan from the Carrier
  • If it is Voice Only then iMessage through Phone Number may not work


Still not activated after a day?

It might take up to 24 hours to activate iMessage and FaceTime. If the issue continues after 24 hours, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS.
  2. If you're using an iPhone, contact your carrier to make sure that you can receive SMS messages.
  3. Contact Apple Support.
