Apple Watch S4 Fonts and Icons Too Large to Read

When I put my Apple Watch S4 on sometimes the fonts and icons become soo large it is impossible to read. Why? I have to restart the Watch using the crown and on/off button. Then it return to a readable view.

Sounds like you may have Zoom turned on

If so you can turn it off, just toggle off instead of on

That was it. The issue was finding the zoom controls.
