Someone has sent me a CD-ROM in the mail. I haven't used a CD-ROM in years. I have somewhere a 4X external CD-ROM drive. To retrieve what is on the present CD-ROM, I expect that the 4X would suffice. My old CD-ROM drive has a SCSI connection. Is there a way to connect such an old drive via USB to a modern Mac?

Yes. There used to be SCSI and Ultra SCSI to USB adapters.
You'll also likely need a power source, as the USB port on a Mac is unlikely to be able to power an old SCSI Cd-Rom drive on its own.
But considering how old SCSI is at this point, it may be easier and cheaper to just buy an external CD drive. You can find many going for around $20 USD on Amazon.
If you really want an adapter, you'll need to go through ebay and see if someone is selling one. Doubt anyone is making new ones at this point.
