iPhone 7 + camera

My iPhone 7+ Back camera started shaking a few months ago. It just sort of wobbles when I try to take a photo. The front camera works fine. This is the exact same problem that the iPhone 6+ Camera phones had for which Apple issued a recall. I also read on many forums that Apple would take care of this problem for 7+ users. Well I just spent an hour at the Apple store (they were running late on their Genius Bar appts, only to be told I have to pay 80.00 to have the camera fixed and that Apple isn’t doing anything to support users with this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

thank you!

Gee thanks that was so enlightening. I’ve had nothing but problems with this phone from day 1 of getting this 1000.00 instrument and so on principle I’m not going to hand over more money when I’m positive this is a design flaw. I foolishly got the 7+ a month after it’s release which almost always ends up being a bad move as the first batch of iPhones after any new release often have bugs that need to be worked out. I bought my first MAC 20 years ago and have had over a dozen Apple computers and phones. I KNOW this is a design flaw. I’m just not sure how the recall process works so let me rephrase my question. Does anyone know the process of initiating a recall? I’ve read hundreds of posts on various forums of people with this same problem.

If you have evidence that a sizable sample of the iPhone 7 Plus has this problem, and have certifications from engineers saying that, then you can present it to the service manager and see if they will waive the $80. Without proof you just need to pay. How do you KNOW it is a design flaw?

Recalls are normally done from within the company unless they are a safety recall. The only other option would be to pay a law firm a retainer fee ($1M might get you started) and get a court to force a recall.

But before you do that what is the scientific evidence you currently have to prove this? My handed down 7 Plus is used by a woman with 4 young boys and the camera still works fine. She would seem to be an obvious target for a wobbling camera.
