Apple email @me password lost. Help!

Apple email @me password lost. Help!

My iMac HDD crashed. Now booting form an external drive with no access to my Keychain.

I have 2 important @me email address but cannot remember the passwords.

Any idea how to handle this?

All functioning email addresses are part of an iCloud account. If the @me.com address in question has been working since 2012 then it is part of an iCloud account which may be a different one from the one you have been dealing with, and which would have been created with a different ID. If you don't know that ID please see

On the other hand, is the address an 'email alias' within the same account as the first @me.com address? In that case any messages would have been delivered to the inbox alongside the other address/

The password for your @me.com emails is that of the Apple ID used for your iCloud account. If that's different from the ID you know here, for which you presumably know the password, then please see

Thanks again. perhaps it was an alias. I changed the actual send/receive address and received an email from the person that uses that (alias) address. So perhaps all is solved and thanks very very much.

Thanks very much. That did indeed fix the problem. However, only for one of the @me accounts! If I activate the second account a window in Mail keeps popping up: Cannot connect to the account "Me". There is a box for the password, None of my normal ones work.

The link you provided I have tried already and it seems to only want me to change my iCloud password and nothing to do with emails accounts. :(
