My iMessage History is gone.
My iMessage history is gone even though I have my messages set on save forever. I have more than enough data. How do I retrieve the old messages from my icloud back onto my phone?

If you weren't syncing Messages using iCloud, the messages should be in your backup.
Restoring from a backup erases all data currently on your device. Any data newer than when the backup was made will be erased. A restore is an all or nothing restore. You can't access a backup and only restore certain files.
