How do I delete Notes on iCloud but not iPhone

Of the 35 Notes on my iPhone, 17 are also listed in the iCloud folder. Some of these I do not want in iCloud. How do I delete a note from iCloud but not lose it on my iPhone?

You can move the notes out of iCloud and save locally on the iPhone. In the Notes app, tap on Edit at the top-right, then select the note(s) you want to move, then tap on Move To..., then choose On my iPhone as the destination.

Thank you! That worked perfectly for 90% of notes. It's weird that 4 notes repeatedly "copy/paste" to the new destination instead of just move there. But all the rest went to a new "former iCloud" folder on my iPhone and are no longer in iCloud. Just to be extra cautious, I'll paste those 4 weirdos into a word document before deleting them from iCloud.
