iPhone backup

Today I looked at my icloud free space and it was 50 gb less than yesterday! I can see that my photos witch are 50 gb are uploaded to icloud (as I want to) but they are backed up to icloud too! About a week ago I changed my storage plan from 50 gb to 200gb and i had 150 free space. No I have less than 100 gb and my my data hasn’t increased at all! Whats goin on?

iCloud backup I went into my settings on my iPhone and clicked iCloud backup. It took about 4 minutes. Does that mean I can delete some photos and videos off of my phone to clear up some space? What am I even paying $.99 a month for 50G anyway? I feel like I never have enough space. And there isn’t much on my phone!

iPhone back up storage Hi I need help with my iCloud storage. Since I had my new phone my iCloud storage is almost full. With my old phone I had used less than half the 50g I have in the iCloud & now it’s at 47g. It says the back up takes up half of the storage and I don’t know why. Also my photos are taking up more than double the amount of storage they used to on my old phone. This can not be right!! I hope someone can help as I do not want to have to go to 200g or storage for £2.49 a month.

iCloud backup storage size The size of the backup on my phone has more than doubled without storing any additional information on my phone and now I can not backup to icloud. I would buy more storage but there is no reason to do so since I haven't added any additional files or photos. I did have to sign out of my icloud account and back in and that is when I noticed the size of the backup doubled. What can I do to correct this so I don't have to buy more storage?

FYI if you sync your photos to icloud using this Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support it is not part of the icloud backup.
