Ants in iPhone - future damage?

Very tiny (almost invisible ants) were discovered crawling over my phone and before I could flick them away at least one of them crawled into the crack that is part of the design of my iPhone - the space with a crack opening that I am talking about is located between the black screen on the front of my phone (where the home screen buttons are) and the white framed area around that main area.

Any feedback from someone with hardware and software knowledge/understanding of iPhones - about the potentiality for future damage internally to my phone as a result of this occurrence - would be appreciated, as I just bought the phone and and concerned about the likelihood (or not) of repairs having to be done in the future.

Thanks much.

In answer to the various people who replied to my question: Thanks for your feedback. I just called my carrier who gives 30 days trial period and arranged an exchange. I did not want to take any chances on potential future problems, even if I were still under warranty with Apple Care (as that would have entailed extra time and possible expense). This was a brand new phone not a used one. There were no ants in it when I received it - I went to a vacation rental where there were tiny ants in our room.
