Two factor authentication in order to apply for the Apple Credit Card

When I tried to apply for the Apple credit card, my phone had to be set up for two factor authentication. Now in my settings, i'm constantly seeing an alert that says

"Some account services will not be available until you sign in again"

So I hit Continue

And it asks for my Apple ID Password

I enter my Apple ID Password

Says Enter iPhone Passcode

I enter my iPhone passcode

The upper right corner of my iPhone X has the circular bar meaning it's working/thinking

but nothing else … just freezes

Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Are you getting a verification code?

Verification code - how to get one and sign in with two-factor authentication

Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.

Try a restart.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Try a forced restart.

Reset Device

Apple Support by e-mail or chat Work through the screens to get a chat option. You may need to pick a problem that is slightly different than yours to get a chat option.

Thanks so much for the quick response. Unfortunately, my iPhone doesn't get past the stage where it locks up which is after I've entered my iPhone 6 digit passcode. I'm thinking my problem is I only have one trusted device which is the phone that i'm having the trouble with. Is there a way to make another authorized device a "trusted device"?
