Lost apple watch not listed under find my iphone

My phone and watch were connected to each other but watch is not listed under find my iphone app (phone is there). It is listed as my device under icloud. Now I lost my watch but cant wipe it or find it. What to do - how do send message if watch gets online or detect location etc.
