You cannot have people from different countries in a Family Share. Assuming you both live in the same country, one or both of you should correct their account and put their real country on it : Change your Apple ID country or region - Apple Support

It really doesn’t matter what any of our opinions are about this issue, yours included. Apple’s stores (iTunes, the Apple store, the iBook store) are not international and never have been. The stores are country or region specific. Copyright and software licensing is not governed by a global or universal systems of laws. So Apple requires that all family members in a family share must all use the same App, iTunes and iBook stores for sharing content. Even then, some store content cannot be shared using family sharing - almost certainly again because of some specifics in copyright law or IP licensing terms.

Remember, family sharing is not about sharing Apple’s own internal intellectual property. It’s about allowing Apple to allow family members to share IP owned by others - independent writers, developers, musicians. Since Apple doesn’t own the items you are sharing, they have to stay both within the law(s) of each country they do business in, as well as within the terms those independent people and companies impose on Apple to distribute their products and IP.

That you can not contact apple (one of the largest companys in the world) in other way than by phone is simply a dark pattern (The fact that someone sit and delete my post in here is a dark pattern)

There are multiple ways to contact Apple that don't require a phone, there is no mystical 'dark pattern'.

Familysharing is for family and it should not matter which country your family is from it is a disgrace.

Of course it matters and is obviously not a disgrace, there are multiple reasons (e.g. licensing, store content, payment method etc.) why you have to be in the same country and therefore using the same country's store.

I spend 3 hours yesterday going around i circles trying to contact apple.. finally I managed through twitter but it say nowhere to use twitter.

apps, payment etc. That is for all those reasons I do not change my store.. i am danish and my girlfriend is vietnamese.

It is not obvious that it is not possible.. i did not know until i tried. And i still do not accept the answer.. family sharing should be for family no matter what country.

if you travel like me you do not put in your simcard to receive calls at 10$ pr minute... then you can not get in touch with apple support. So how do you get hold of apple support while on vacation?

Why i can not have family in other countrys it makes no sense?

We both live in same country but because i live in vietnam does not mean i speak vietnamese or want to use vietnamese customer support or vietnamese account. I just want to use my family sharing with my girlfriend who happen to be vietnamese ... there must be some way to do this it makes no sense.

I tried to contact apple about this but i can not get in contact with apple since i can not use phone for support. I still look for the chat support but I simply can not find it ... i spend almost 3 hours today looking for apple chat.. it is shameful to be honest that apple uses dark patterns.

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.
