MacOS High Sierra need driver for HP Scanjet G2710
The last OS X scanner drivers for the G2710 were for OS X Mavericks (10.9) and most likely those drivers will not work in Sierra, High Sierra, or Mojave. Short of using this scanner on Windows, or possibly Linux, the only macOS alternative is dialabrain's recommendation to purchase the 64-bit VueScan software.
I have owned VueScan Professional since 2012 and have never paid for any upgrade since.

Go to HP website for drivers.
FWIW, VueScan lists your scanner as compatible.
