How to pear TarDisk after it was formatted- with no pear installer
I wanted to create this post for people out there trying to use their Tardisk after it was reformatted.
Let's start from the top shall we. When I reformatted Tardisk the "Pear Installer" was deleted, so I contacted the company. On there website they said that they help to reinstall "Pear Installer" only once per customer- meaning if this issue happened again, you're on your on, basically.
However, I had to email them my oder # and serial # of computer, which I did. Desperate times, desperate measures, right!
After waiting for couple days with no response, I tried figuring it out and those are the steps:
(side note, the reason, I needed more space is for me to be able to run bootcamp which require 64GB on my mac to run windows)
(Also, please note that it's always best to create a backup for your files just in case even though I personally didn't need it)
Anyway back to the steps:
- download CCC-carbon copy cloner
- select source - your main operating system Mac OS
- select destination - your SSD card
- hit clone
- sometimes it will ask if you want to download support file or create something always choose that option and never choose cancel or no
- after it's done cloning go to system privacy and select startup disk- this is where you’ll select you cloned SSD card as the default for your device to use when running
- the system will ask to authorize- input password, then it will ask to restart; click restart
- when your mac is back on, it’s now using the SSD card not mac OS to run. meaning you have two hard drive of the same content
- delete Mac OS by opening disk utility , select your previous operating system (Mac OS) and choose erase.
- now your HHD is empty and can be used for other programs that require free space on HDD while your system is running using your SSD
