Display Dims When I Hit Delete

I'm on a 2015 27" iMac OS X El Capitan. One owner.

Suddenly my display dims whenever I hit the delete button.

With each hit, it gets a little darker.

In turn, when I hit tab, the brightness increases.

This is a real problem, as I hit delete frequently when making corrections as I type.

I have gone to >System Preferences >Display and unchecked Automatically adjust brightness.

I've also restarted my computer.

Any ideas how this was initiated and how to stop it.

Thanks for reading!

So I'm replying to my own post 😌

I've been trying to figure this out all morning. Immediately after posting, I wondered what happens when I hit the eject button.

So random. And unrelated.

But...now delete works as it should. And tab works as it should. No more dimming.

That "seems" to have fixed the problem, although how, I do not know.

Maybe this will help someone else.
