Strava activity

Why does the apple watch not recognize strava recorded workouts towards monthly workout challenges? It will recognize the move but not the exercise. That’s really annoying. And I’ve waited to see if it takes a few days but it never counted towards my challenge. So I had to start recording workouts on apple itself which I don’t mind but strava is better for running and keeping track of improvements!

Third party app data does count toward your monthly achievement goals, as long as it adds your workouts to the Health app. If Strava is doing that, it may be that the achievements haven't had enough time to update; it can take up to 9 days to get an award once an achievement is reached, and it could be that your information is still working through that process. My recommendation is to wait that 9 days after your last workout to complete the challenge and see if it has updated by then. You can get more information on achievements here:
