apparently my apple calendar has been hacked. There are entrees for a whole week , which is apparently a scam. has anyone ever seen anything like this. What do I do??? any ideas.. I have a MacBook Pro with the lastest version of Mojave 10.14.6 supplement ( installed yesterday)

You haven't been hacked.
When your email receives mail with a Calendar invite, Apple Mail by default adds these invites automatically to your Calendar.
The spammer is adding these invites to their junk mail and they are appearing in Calendar.
To stop this, open Apple Mail, then go to Mail -> Preferences... then click the General tab.
Towards the bottom, untick 'Add invitations to Calendar automatically'.
You will have to go through your Calendar though and delete those previous entries.
Hello. this is a very interesting article. I have reviewed it and looked at my settings. I have further investigated google calendars. I have one account that I don't use often, but it had a setting 'selected' to automatically ad events to calendar. When I turned this feature off, the fraud/spam events disappeared. I sent a support request to google, and provided some info, and ask them to look into who was sending these spam/fraud events.
But I also removed this calendar from my apple calendar links. this eliminated the spam events from my main apple calendar. it's curious that this has seemed to occur about the same time that apple just released security patches for macOS and iOS yesterday. perhaps just serendipity?

Boot into Safe Mode and check your calendar from there. Clean up as necessary and reboot normally.
NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.

Good luck with Google; I would not trust any company that derives their income from selling users' information. That is what they do, so they may allow spammers or questionable sites as long as they get paid for the "advertising".
