Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I was in a website and received a message that my device has been infected with a virus. It provided me with a phone number to call but I chose to contact apple directly as I was not sure if the number was for real.
How is do I know if my iPad has indeed been infected with a virus?
Such popup messages are scams. Close the offending page, and avoid sites that are involved in such bogus advertising tactics.

It hasn't. There's no way for a website to tell that there's malware on a Mac OS X or iOS system, unless you manually upload a file.
