For how long can an app download stay paused for?

So I’m downloading a game right now using public WiFi and of course, it is taking way too long to download. If I pause the download process, will I still be able to un-pause the next day when I come back to use public WiFi? Or will I have to restart the download process all over again? So like the subject says, how long can an app download stay paused for?
