I’m considering buying a new Mac laptop. I’ve heard that another user cannot get her SuperDrive to work with her new MacBook Air, though she bought an adapter. Is the SuperDrive no longer being supported on new laptops?

Plug into the USB-c power socket.
If you have an old USB type Superdrive get the USB to USB-c adaptor and plug that into the same USB-c socket that gets the mains power whilst you are on battery power. T
