iPad Pro 12.9 runs hot and very slow! Not using more than one or two apps.

iPad getting hot and running slow Hi. I have an iPad Mini 3 and I have noticed that after I have used it for 30 min or so it starts to get warm and run very slowly. Not only that but it also starts doing some weird things. Apps that are normally fine crash and run very slowly. Often Chrome doesn’t shut down properly. Sometimes when I’m trying to close down apps it randomly jumps to the home screen. This is worrying. Is the heat damaging my CPU or is something else happening?
