Trying to Find a note that I had in my phone and it’s not there now

Notes are normally saved to an account not to a device.
I know you view them from a device but unless you specifically turned them on to save to device they are saved in an account, iCloud, Gmail, Outlook . . .
Make sure you are signed into all of your accounts
