Hmm, AirPods don't have a language. They just produce sounds from the iPhone.
Perhaps it is Siri or some other app from the iPhone that is speaking the wrong language. Start with this:
Change the language on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Change your Apple ID country or region
Get help with Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
