The trial version and the release version are separate applications. They can both be on the system at the same time. Make sure you run the release version.

The redemption codes are one time use for the App Store. They have nothing to do with the application. When you used the redemption code to purchase FCP you did so using an Apple ID. You need to be logged into the App Store with that Apple ID. If you still don't find the application in the purchased page you would need to contact App Store support.

"I had an older version of FCP 10.3 "

Was this the trial version? I'm confused, if you already bought the application once, why do you have a redemption code? If you're trying to purchase it using a redemption code, you need to do this on a machine that has 10.13.6 or later. Sign in with your Apple ID used to get the redemption code, and then enter the redemption code. Apple will not sell an older version; you have to have bought the current version before you can download an older version for an older machine.

Hi Tom, yes originally it was a trial version, I then purchased the app and received a redemption code etc and all was good and used the app for some time, Last year had an issue with the HD and had it replace ( the IT guy who changed the drive copied apps across I think ). Basically have not used it since. I am now going to travel and wanted to take the MacBook with me, went to check all was ok and charged etc.

Tried to run FCPX and it now says trial has ended ( no issue with this as was purchased several years ago). I still have all the redemption codes from the original purchase but can not find a way to enter them into the app.

It is not clear to me if that is what you did, but if you have used the redemption code to buy the application, you just need to go to the App Store, login with the same Apple ID, and download.

Note that the version you get may not be 10.3. The current version is 10.4.6, and that is what you get if running a compatible OS version. If you are running an older OS, you should receive a message saying the current version is not compatible, and offered the choice to download the most recent version that is compatible with your OS.
