My MacBook Air automatically shutdowns whenever unplugged from charger

Within 20 seconds of unplugging my MacBook it shutdowns completely. I can only use it while its being charged. The display shows that its at 100% so I don't know what the problem is. Please help!

The battery is defective or there is some other hardware failure. Make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. Also, see How to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Distributor (AAD).
