Hey there, does anyone know if one can access your student Apple Music subscription on Apple TV through the apps? I know I can mirror my phone, but I'd prefer to not have to do that and play some music on my tv and still have access to my phone for other things.

Yes you can, using the Music app on Apple TV (4th generation or newer). And it works the same for Apple Music Individual/Family/Student.
The subscription is linked to your Apple ID, not to a specific device.
