after the latest update, my iphone 7's home button suddenly broken, and so with the fingerprint. any idea? updated to version 12.4 btw

Create a new fingerprint and try.

If no joy, make a genius bar appointment with Apple for an evaluation.

They have diagnostic tools and can tell you what options you have.
