how do I pair my iPhone with my Mac book

Easy. Either Plug it in via USB (the lighting end of the cable plugs into your iPhone) or turn on Bluetooth on your Phone (should be under settings) and turn on Bluetooth on your Mac (bluetooth menu at the top of your screen-make sure your mac is discoverable) and it should be there. If you are using iTunes, it should show up under "Devices", via a pull down menu
