Apple Card Too Thick

Has anyone else had a problem with the Apple Card being too thick to fit into credit card readers? I admit the card is handsome and slick but it is noticeably thicker and heavier than a standard credit card. I have yet been able to use it because it doesn't fit into the slot of a credit card reader. Is this an example of form taking precedence over function? This seems like a terrible oversight to me.
