Apple watch and tattoo

Hey there,

Just wanting some help regarding my partners apple watch.

She recently got a sleeve tattoo and has only just realised now that the tattoo is causing the apple watch to lock all the time. The fact she is a Paramedic, she relies on her watch a fair bit, and this is an annoying issue.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Also, does anyone know if apple is bringing out an apple watch with a feature that ensures tattoos will not affect how the watch works?

Thanks in advance :)

the watch screen can be flipped for wearing on the other wrist.

Switch wrists or Digital Crown orientation

If you want to move your Apple Watch to your other wrist or prefer the Digital Crown on the other side, adjust your orientation settings so that raising your wrist wakes your Apple Watch, and turning the Digital Crown moves things in the direction you expect.

  1. Open the Settings app  on your Apple Watch.
  2. Go to General > Orientation.

You can also open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap My Watch, then go to General > Watch Orientation.
