Can I do this? I'm a freelance reporter and would be very helpful for me to record interviews. I have a third party recording app.

Due to law restrictions in many countries, Apple does not develop any app about that matter.

There are third party recording apps that can record in person communications through the mike.

But great care must be taken to use such applications if the laws in force allow it :-)
