Apple ID is not an email anymore

Hello I had to bring in my phone for them to send out to fix it. And I’m not sure if they are going to email my Apple ID to tell me it’s ready but that email is not an email anymore. I’m wondering if they can tell me it’s ready through another email?

Apple ID Reset I got an email (not the one associated with my Apple ID) entitled "How To Reset your Apple ID". It has my name and another of my emails, but this is not the email associated with my Apple ID. The email looks legit and even has my name, but I do not have an Apple ID associated with that email. Should I be concerned? I even went so far as to try and see if I could reset it, but it said that there was no Apple ID associated with the email (fully expected it not to work). I just want to make sure there is nothing weird going on. Thanks!

The email that I have been using to log into my apple id doesn’t work and it was never right So my for my first applid has never been right. It’s a @hotmail.com when it’s supposed to be an @gmail.com. I had the password and just left it for many years now. I have never gotten an email from Apple or and receipt for any purchases etc etc etc over all it’s been pretty limiting. Apple never helps me and I recently found out I could add the email that is correct and start using that for a log in BUT. When I go to settings it still shows the @hotmail.com under my name. I also have 2 iPads that have been locked out and won’t work because of similar things. The people at the stores don’t help me and no one ever helps me on the phone. I feel Apple has stolen from me in the 1000s of dollars. Does anyone know how I can get the back receipts and have apple remove the wrong email from my Apple ID? It even screwed up my Apple Card application process so I am pretty bummed.

I would contact the place you turned it in for repairs to see if they can assist you.

Apple will use the contact information associated with your AppleID. You should change that nonworking email to a different one that does work - see Change your Apple ID - Apple Support. It’s also always a good idea to have a second alternate email verified and trusted under your contact information.
