if my repair is cancelled do I get a refund?

I used the support desk to get a repair. As my phone is out of warranty they charged £50 and sent me a freepost box. I was slow to send it back because I didn't want to be without my phone for 6 days without a temporary replacement. They then told me my repair has been cancelled. This is fine as long as I get the money back. Anyone with experience of this?
