HomePod Setup Failed (-71160)
I got the HomePod to play using a hotspot from another iPhone. But no AirPlay or HomeKit. I was able to update to iOS 12.4, no help.

When I used phone hotspot the HomePod connected. I can join it on the ATV4 under Audio Output and choose it on iPhoneXS and ATV4 AirPlay Room. When I went to use it on HomeKit is when it kicked me off of iCloud and forced a Apple ID reset. Ouch.
Thanks for replying, everyone. The HomePod is at least usable now. I am unwilling try HomeKit until a few more updates. It is currently at iOS 12.4. The HomePod still refuses to connect in HomeKit. That's OK. I may try again after macOS Mojave 10.14.6 next update. It looks like it will be a big one.
Make sure your phone wasn’t locked during set up as this will give set up failed error
HomePod won't set up correctly on a guest network where clients are isolated from each other. Your iOS device needs to be able to communicate with your HomePod over Wi-Fi.

Homekit requires wifi. You’re expecting it to do things it’s not designed to do. See my first post on set up requirements
