Upgraded from a 6s to an Xr. Everything transferred fine. Trying to factory restore 6s and it locks up. Now it wont boot up. Have tried multiple itunes factory resets with phone plugged into multiple computers with multiple cables. Each time am told a restore is necessary. It will get to the preparing iphone for restore prompt then ....... nothing for hours

Do you have the latest version of iTunes on the computer? Do you have a SIM in the iPhone 6S?

You will need the SIM in the iPhone 6S to run the restore as far as I know. Do you see an error message, or as you said, it just locks up?
I transferred the sim card to the xr. Latest itunes 12.9.6.3
Iphone 6s wont restore to factory settings.
