iCloud Breach

Just received a phone call from Apple Main number that my iCloud account was breached? Is this possible?

No. The callers are criminals trying to steal your personal and financial information. Hang up on them. Tell your friends and family to hang up on them.

Apple does not make such calls.

All such calls are scams from criminals attempting to steal your personal and financial information. The callers will often use number spoofing to pretend they are calling from a legitimate business. The correct course of action is to hang up on them, repeatedly if needed.

I received several calls today with the phone ID showing "Apple Inc". The connection was poor. They said my iCloud password was breached. Fortunately we were having problems with our new I-Mac after the latest update to iMovie and GarageBand (Catalina 10.15.2). My husband got on the phone to discuss the problem with the "Apple" representative. After a 10 minute discussion on the issue the "Apple" representative just said to take the I-Mac to the apple store and reload all the software and hung up. The caller had a heavy indian accent. My husbands father was from Bangladesh so he would know :)

My husband reset the (SMC) System Management Controller to fix the problem. The error log was sent to Apple Support. Sleep mode issue.
