why is the year on my ipad set to something like 2533 BE?? What is this BE and why cant i change it back to and or even get anywhere close to the correct year

why is the date on my ipad set to the correct month and day but the year says 2573B.E.?? and it doesnt let me change it manually i have tried to scroll over and over again in both directions but cannot seem to come even close to the correct year... PLEASE HELP?!

Please check: Settings - General - Language & Region - Calendar = Gregorian.
