How can I separate an original email from all replies or forwards?

It shows an un-highlighted jpg# but I cannot access it.

I received an email, forwarded it to someone else for review, received a reply, then wanted to reply to the original email but the original, forward, reply are all attached/connected. How do I reply to the original?

Another example: I received email with a photo. I replied & received a reply. Now these are all attached to each other & Now I can’t see the photo in the original email.

Really hate how this email works.
