Apple Music subscription

Just recently changed my phone plan to one that had Apple music included. I had a subscription prior to this and went through the steps to set it up via my carrier but was still charged from Apple this month for my subscription. Not sure what exactly I need to do to fix it. Really don't want to be paying twice for the same thing.
