how to play a .wmv file in mac

IINA is a newer, very versatile player that plays most wmv files, though not all. It also plays many other formats as well.

One option is VideoLAN's VLC media player. Another is to run a VM of Windows and play them from there.

Flip4Mac has been discontinued, but VLC was noted. Also MPlayerX.
