iTunes sign in not accepted

On both my iMac and iPad, I keep being asked to sign in to my iTunes account, but while I have no problem singing in with my apple ID / password to iCloud, the same password is not being accepted for signing in to iTunes ???

  • What may be going on?

I did set up a new user, opened iTunes, and wasn't asked for a password !

Went back to my own account, the password prompt still there (although I was not going to the store), but this time, after a very long wait, it was finally accepted.

What where and why, I still don't know, but if indeed it was triggered by the creation of the new account, I am thankful for the suggestion.

On the Mac, are you running any anti - virus programs? Using a VPN?

Try setting up another admin user account in System Preferences/Users & Groups to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read.
