Hello - I've submitted my podcast to Apple three times. The first two times it was rejected within a day or two of it being submitted, apparently because "it appeared to be a test." I made some recommended changes and submitted again last Friday, September 6 but have not heard back. Any feedback you can provide? Thanks.

The issue is that you don't have an 'itunes:summary' tag in the top section of the feed (i.e .before the first 'item' tag). This is where the iTunes Store gets the Description which appears its your page for iyour podcast, so it's essential. The sort of thing you have in your 'description' tag would do, though it would be slightly longer - two to three lines is ideal. Without this tag being present you will almost certainly get rejected again.

If you go to your soundcloud profile and edit your bio that should work. I just made it more detailed, and it was accepted. The first two times I submitted I just had the default bio. I think the bio is viewed as the description by iTunes so it wants more detail before they accept it.
Ok do you know how I would add the itunes:summary tag in SoundCloud? I do not see anywhere to do that.

How did you get it approved I’m having the same problem as well and I’m using SoundCloud as my host as well!
I'm afraid I can't advise on SoundCloud. Others have had the same problem and suggested that there is no way to do this, which seems rather odd: however SoundCloud aren't really geared as a podcasting host, and I suspect the ability to make the feed is a bit of an add-on. I can only refer you to their documentation and Support (if any).
You may finish up considering going somewhere else: if so, Apple have posted a list of recommended podcasting services:
