Iphone water damage / repaired by apple

Has anyone had their iphone X repaired by apple? Did they repair it or replace it? How long did it take? Same day or several days?

My Iphone was in my back pocket and I sat in a seat with water in it. I have condensation in all camera lenses front and back. Face ID does not work. Vibrator and switch are intermittent.

Just wondering if Apple can fix it and is it going to cost me $500+? Or should I have it fixed at an after market repair shop.

Apple basically does not "fix" water-damaged iPhones. However, it is up to the Apple technician to determine if that's the case ... and, if it is, liquid-damage is not covered under the one year limited warranty and the phone replacement would come at full cost.

However, if you elected to purchase an AppleCare+ plan, liquid-damage could be considered one of the two "accidental" incidents and the replacement may come at a reduced cost.

That sounds like something that can't be fixed - at least not by Apple. All reports for the symptoms you state suggest a full replacement. The liquid contact indicators will certainly have changed color and even if everything works, Apple won't do anything other than a full replacement for any service if that's the case.

That wasn't the question. Apple is fast, especially with iphones. It seems they will repair or replace according to which is faster. No. a screen does not cost $500. BUT, I'd contact apple support first. It may take a day or two to get in the apple store. During an iPhone recall, Apple support sent me to an Apple authorized reseller place that replaced a screen and battery while I waited. Closer, faster and I wouldn't have tried them if Apple hadn't sent me. The Apple store can get you back on the road ASAP, but don't expect to find them bored and waiting for you when you walk in. Though, I've gone without an appointment and got next day service. iPhones are not cheap. For you, like my children, I'd recommend Apple Care and a waterproof case.
