MacBook Pro 2017 Model White Fading around the edges, whole display & Display Flickering

Guys,

I bought my MBP 2017 last year in June. It was going great till 7 days ago. I had my Mac as sleep mode in charging, I just opened the laptop & couldn't see much..at that time, it was too white & heavy flickering. So, I searched around & performed some Apple recommended method, Tried The VRAM, PRAM thing..nothing happened...opened in safe mode & saw that, some problem persists in safe mode too.

So, I erased my Mac & then installed High Sierra again(This one took a lot of time, I don't know why) & then updated to Mojave again.

Next day, the white edges was coming off slowly but they were there & a much less flickering. Then, the day after, situation was improved a bit & now it's similar to that day or slightly improved.

Now, when I open the Mac, I see faded white screen (The whole screen) for about 5 seconds & fading remains only at the edges....mostly under the web cam section & the 4 corners..after 1 hour of screen opening time, they sort of go away (But not completely). But the flickering remains the whole time..it's workable, there's no other problem, no lagging...but flickering causes me trouble.

& One Interesting thing is, When I touch the track pad & pointer is active, flickering goes away completely...if I am not active, flickering comes back again.

Have anyone experienced problem like me ?

Is there any solution ?

Will Apple help me in this kind of situation ?

Thanks

Hi, ThePOSH101,

I see that your 2017 MacBook Pro is having some issues with the display. Specifically, the edges appear white, and the display is flickering. I'm happy to help!

Resetting the NVRAM was a great first step. Since that hasn't helped, the next recommendation I have is to see if the issue occurs in a new, test user account. This will help us determine if your personal data and individual settings could be causing the issue: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac - Apple Support.

If the issue does occur in a new, test user, I'd suggest next booting into macOS Recovery, and seeing if the issue persists there: About macOS Recovery - Apple Support

macOS Recovery does not boot macOS directly, so if it does not happen in macOS Recovery that would indicate a macOS/software-related issue, and I'd suggest reinstalling macOS: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support. While this should not remove your personal data from the computer, I would encourage you to create a backup using Time Machine first: Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support.

If it does occur in macOS Recovery, that would indicate to me a probable hardware issue, and you should contact Apple Support directly for service options. You can do this by setting a reservation and taking it into an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider: Apple - Find Locations, or by reaching out via one of the available methods here: Contact Apple Support.

Have a wonderful day!
