1 day old macbook battery dying at 50%

I brought my new macbook pro yesterday and it is dying at exactly 50% battery. Ive tried a SMC reset but any other thoughts?

Have you checked condition and cycle count of your battery?

Try an SMC reset. Some users on these forums suspect Apple has set the laptop battery for 50% at the factory for safety reasons when shipping laptops and the SMC reset should unlock the battery and allow it to operate normally.
