Does anyone here know how warranty on LG Ultrafine 4k 23.7" Monitors works?

I've recently bought this new model. Apple seem to insist that any warranty coverage is from LG and not themselves. However, I can't register this unit with LG and following email/conversation with them they are saying its a foreign unit so not supported by LG UK - they don't even recognise this as a UK model.

Clearly, Apple are not selling illegal products in the UK so does anyone here know how warranty on these monitors works? It may not be the same for the 5K model, or old 21" 4K model, I don't know. I found a similar query from someone in Canada relating, presumably, to the 21" model because it was a 2017 post but there was no answer to that - their's was purchased from an Apple store in Canada but was a US model.

I didn't say it was an Apple issue. LG are saying it's a foreign unit so they won't cover it. Apple say they won't cover it. There's obviously a mix up somewhere as I'm not the only one who has experienced this so I was asking if anyone else had experienced and what their resolution was to help me get to the bottom of it.

It's also worth pointing out that the only retailer of this model is Apple and official Apple resellers. They are made specifically for Apple. But still, I'm not saying it's an Apple issue.
